Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver the Athlete
The NFL franchise issued a statement Wednesday night stating they are aware of claims of abuse circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player the athlete and were in contact with the league office.
The team omitted the name of the player specifically in their statement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name the athlete by name, shared a series of photos on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the person involved was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.

No official complaints were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have occurred.
Rice's Recent Legal Issues
Rice missed the first six games of this season due to an NFL suspension for his involvement in instigating a crash on a Texas roadway that resulted in multiple people hurt. Rice was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
Statistically, he concluded the year with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs went 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first time in a ten-year span.
