Three members of law enforcement perished and at least 15 people got wounded in what appears to be intentional gas explosion at a rural property in northern Italy.

The explosion was triggered as law enforcement and fire personnel went into the house in the vicinity of the city of Verona to carry out an court-ordered eviction for three siblings who were older adults.

The three victims who died served in the Italian military police.

A man and a woman were taken into custody at the site and a third person who escaped subsequent to the blast was located soon after. The trio have been transported to hospital.
