David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

The comedian

Prolific children's author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

A representative for the company said: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was made after an inquiry regarding claims about questionable actions involving female individuals.

The publisher declined to specify the reasons for its decision, stating: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes over four dozen titles in total, encompassing a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
