Barça to Host Inaugural Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday

Barcelona have announced they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome the Basque side in domestic competition 30 months after they moved out for construction to commence.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans can be present under the licence granted. When completed, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.

Preparatory Events

The club conducted an open training session at the Camp Nou on 7 November. The club said they were hoping for permission by UEFA to host the next European match versus the German side next month in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
