Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the passing of his two trusted companions.”
